Lazy Saturday

We didn't do much today.  I did get to sleep in, well kind of, Samantha kept coming in my room.  But at 9:45 and no pep from Jack, I got freaked and ran in his room.  He was looking at books in his bed.  Yesterday I had to Wake him up to take Samantha to school and to pick her up, so I think he was tired.
This morning I took Samantha to her Papa's house, so she could spend the night.   She has been wanting to for a month now.  But they are always working, so it is hard to get her there.  The pool was also open so she couldn't wait to get in.  It wasn't that warm yet... I wouldn't have got in!
I cleaned up the house, did some laundry.  Watered my flowers, I am trying to keep them alive this year.  We will see.
Ordered some pictures for Samantha's friends in her class.  They took a field trip to Williamsburg on Friday.
Thursday we went to the park, for just a few minutes, it was getting ready to rain.

May 27, 2009

Today we didn't do much.  I did have a few returns to make, so I did get that done.  I  did get the van cleaned out.  That has to be done every 2 days.
Today on the way to take Samantha to school Jack's nose was running so I gave him a tissue to wipe his nose and he did fairly well.  But then I look in my mirror and he is eating it.  OH MY, BOYS!

Samantha had Art class today and she made this adorable bird house!  They are also learning the parts of a flower, pretty cool!  I don't remember learning that.

Jack loves balloons so, I was trying to kill time, so I thought lets go to party store, and get him one.  Well, he was good, I said do you want Elmo or Pooh?  Jack said Elmo, and then Samantha says " I want Pooh"  I then in my mind go back a few years and remembering her saying "balloons are for babies."  But then back in the store I think o.k., whatever, I don't really care.  So we get in the car and of course Jack wants Pooh and Samantha is holding like she isn't giving it up.   And the night just went down hill from there.   Then the string was on Jack and made him really MAD!  So he cries the whole ride home.   And even when it was Bath time.  He wanted out of the tub.  So now I am going to bed!

Talking to boys, WHAT?

So this evening after dinner, Samantha had to call one of the boys in her class back.  She adores him, I already knew that.  She always talks about him.
When she got in the car, when I picked her up from school today, she says (trying to act like it is no biggie)  " Logan asked for my phone # so we can play on club penguin"  I didn't really react.  I always try to lay low.   So a while later she forgot her phone was in the car, so she says, "I need to go check my phone to see if Logan called."  So she called him they talked for a little while. Then it was dinner time.  She comes skipping down the stairs and says she is going to set the table.  I was shocked, I  Usually have to make a big threat to get that done.   She sat down and said he called two times!  So we are eating and it hadn't been that long, and her phone starts ringing.  And it was him!   OH, boy good thing daddy is out of town!  And I hope he looses her number! =)
This evening  I took Jack outside to blow bubbles, he was really cute, of course he doesn't get it, but he did blow a few.  He was just trying too hard,  he also does it when he is doing puzzles.   It is getting hot and humid here.  Summer is on it's way!  We have a family of lizards outside our front door.  Maybe one day I will get their picture.
Jack's nose is just pouring.  It is so cute, he doesn't mind getting his nose wiped.   He will say "nose runnin" or "tissue."  so cute!   But I found out it isn't easy to wipe when driving.  And then he gets really mad and starts SCREAMING!  (good thing Samantha is usually with us.)

This weekend!

It has been a very busy weekend, probably the most busiest one we have ever had.

Friday we went to my H's Dad's house for a cookout.   It was really nice outside and the kids had a blast playing with the water hose, because the pool isn't open yet.
Jack had fun spraying all of us!

Saturday, My mother-in-law kept the kids while we went to a cookout at one of my H's
co-worker's house.   There was one other couple there.  It was nice and low key.  My H has worked with these guys for 10 yrs and we had never gotten together.  So it was nice to finally meet the wives.   Next month it will be at our house and my H will smoke some pork butts.
But when we left the cookout we called to check on the kids and Jack was still up and just getting out of the pool, my my H and I decided it would just be best for Jack to come home and sleep in his bed.  But Samantha stayed the night with her Granny.

Sunday, My  mother-in-law kept the kids and we went to a movie.  Then I went to cash in my MOTHER'S Day gift at the spa, it was so nice I was there from 2:30- 5:00!  I had a pedicure and Manicure and a 60 min facial.  I have never had a facial, that was the best I recommend everyone should have one!  I had a hard time relaxing, I kept thinking about how Jack was, if he was being good for Daddy.  Also I didn't know what to expect from the facial so I kept asking her questions.  I think if I go again one day I will be able to enjoy it more b/c I will know what to expect.

Today, I had to get my H all packed up and out the door, he will be gone for 2 weeks.   I took the kids to the store to get everything for the week.
Jack has had a runny nose all day, I hope he isn't getting sick.

Last note:  We are remembering and thinking about all the fallen heros that have died for our freedom.

Recap of the week....

This week started off slow for me, but I cannot believe it is Friday!  =)   I feel like I did get alot done this week.
Got a load from the storage unit, and back in the garage.  For some reason, it felt very strange not to have all my things right in the garage where I could just go digging for whatever I needed.   My H and I also decided it was a waste of money.   So all I have left in there as of today is the Christmas tree and one container of the Easter baskets.   So that will only be one more van load and that will be done.

I mended a few of the kitchen chairs.  They just needed some glue.

I went threw Jack's winter clothes, they are all in a bag and ready to go to the donation center. along with a bag of toys.

I got a green thumb this week because my mom every time I talked to her she was out in their yard doing yard work, and planting flowers.   So I went to Lowes and got some flowers.  I had been wanting something to put under our 2 trees in the front.

I am glad that my H's plans got changed and he will not be leaving us for 2 weeks.  =)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yesterday, Jack was helping me with the laundry, and he decided to take off what he had on, so we could wash it.   That was the first time he got his Jeans off without help!

Mother's Day

Purple Paper Iris

Mother's Day was nice.  We went to a cook-out, like we do every year at my H great aunt's house.  It was nice because it wasn't too hot and there was a breeze.   The food was good and the company was great!   Watching the kids run and play always puts a smile on my face.
I wanted to share some of the things Samantha had made for me.   I always remember the Mother's day when she was sick in the hospital, and we were so scared.   I am so thankful for my two happy and healthy kids.

Yesterday, Friday was a busy day!  When I picked up Samantha from school she said she had a great day!  So that is always wonderful to hear.   She said they were just busy all day.  She gave me some Mother's day gifts, she is just like her Daddy can't wait to give it to me!  So She had 4 pretty pink Carnations.  She had hand sewn a  hot pad.  She did a great job!  Then my final thing she gave me was she got an A on her test!   She is learning that studying does pay off. =)

I was busy all day making a stationary box, and trying to make cards t
o fill it.   I did finally get it done around 10:00 today.  It was very cute!

I also wanted to make some magnets that I had seen on another blog.  But mine didn't turn out as pretty.  I didn't have the right glue.  But I think they are ok.  So I am still going to give them as a gift.

May 5, 2009

Today is a gloomy day outside and I think it is going to rain for the next couple of days.

This morning Jeff spotted a turtle on our back patio.  Jack really wanted to hold him, but we couldn't let him.  I am sure he would have tried to pull the little guy apart.

Then I was in the kitchen making dinner for tonight, thanks for the recipe Jodie!  You can find it here...
But for some reason when ever I am trying to cook, Jack makes it impossible.  Crying pulling on me, Now pulling stuff off the counters, slamming the cabinet doors, and drawers.  Oh, and if the pantry door is open he is pulling everything out.   It really makes cooking unpleasant!
I think he will be taking a early nap today, he hasn't taken a nap the last 2 days.  My mom said well maybe he has out-grown them.... I really hope not!

Today I will be mailing some bills and going to the bank.  Need to stop at the store, b/c for some reason I forgot the milk.

Botanical Gardens

I have been meaning to share this.  A couple of weekends ago, I took the kids to Botanicals Gardens.   We had a great time!  Jack loved the new kid part.   I wish I would have known that it was going to be open.  So I could have dressed him accordingly.  We saw all the beautiful tulips, if we would have came any later in the season we would have missed them.
When we got there we got on the train ride.  Jack did o.k. until it got close to the e
nd.  Then he wanted out.  But Samantha and I managed to keep him in the train.
Then we went walking, and found some turtles, Jack really liked them, he was actually speechless.  Then we saw the tulips, of course I had to get pictures of Jack smelling them.  Then we went to the World Of Wonders.  Jack had a blast watching all the other kids, and splashing in the water.
The other great thing was it was only $12.00 to get in!  Can't beat that! =)

This weekend, I feel like I did get alot of things checked off my to do list!
Got caught up on the laundry, Samantha's room straight... at least for now.
Cleaned up the garage, got my craft table set up! =)  Did  touch up painting in my bedroom!
Went and got the rest of the Mother's day stuff I needed.
Took another van full of stuff to donate to the Salvation Army!
Jeff cooked steaks on the grill tonight! Jack is in bed! So now just need to finish up on some paper filing.
It is time to say Hello to Monday again!  The weekends seem to fly by!
